For those who did not follow our last blog - www.yachtquartermoon.blogspot.com, we are Symian, Amy and Hallie Archer and we are in the middle of our voyage of sailing around the world on our beautiful 50 foot GulfStar Gypsy Moth.
We sailed out of Gosport Marina in England on Quartermoon (our Oyster 41 ) in July 2008 where we started our adventures sailing around the world.
Nearly two years later and thousands of sea miles under our belt...we envoke on Part Two of our journey in a new boat and with a new addition to the family....Baby Hallie who was born on the 30th August 2010.
Now six months later and a new year we are back on board our beautiful - hugely missed Gypsy Moth!
We arrived back in January to find Gypsy Moth extremely well looked after and everything intact and working! We have spent the last 6 weeks cruising the fantastic, picturesque Bay Islands, which are located just above Honduras.
Our plans are to hop on down the coast on Central Amercia for the next few months visiting Providencia, San Andres, the Corn Islands and then spend hurricane season in Bocas del Toro, The San Blas and Cartegena!!
We plan to go back to charter work until next year so those who would like to come and join us on our adventure for a holiday please email us for further details of our itinerey.
BRIEF HISTORY
We moved onto our new boat in January 2010 which was located in the quaint little town of Dataw Island, in South Carolina.Sym spent the first few months making her sea worthy again and installing all our new goodies. We were finally finished and ready to start sailing in March.
We spent the next three months sailing down to Florida via the Inland Waterways and then headed to the Bahamas for a few weeks. We then sailed onto Cuba, Mexico and Belize where we finally ended up in the Rio Dulce in Guatemala.
We found a fantastic marina NanaJuana where we left Gypsy Moth for 6 months during hurricane season while we flew back to the UK to have our baby girl!!
